Ryan Seaton (previously with Signature Sound) recently launched his solo career with an intimate debut concert. It was an incredible night full of love and support. The remarkable and palatable sense of energy still has me excited three weeks later. He sang, he talked, and he stood, overwhelmed with emotion, before an erupting crowd of family, friends and fans. We loved every moment along with him.

After all the excitement and necessary mushing and gushing, Ry and I recorded a random interview of sorts that says more about our goofiness than anything.
A couple weeks ago I had the chance to shoot my favorite bunch of guys in concert, for the first time since using an SLR. It was so fun to capture the Signature Sound concert experience that I love! Major props to my brother Christopher for catching all the details off stage.

Christopher just finished a promo video of the Wissmann family with some of the footage we shot last month…it’s so nice to see (and hear) some results of everyone’s hard work! Watch it on the front page here:
(repost)
On the surface not a ripple
Undercurrent wages war
Quiet in the sanctuary
Sin is crouching at my door
How can I be so prone to wander
So prone to leave You
So prone to die
And how can You be so full of mercy
You race to meet me and bring me back to life
I wake to find my soul in fragments
Given to a thousand loves
But only One will have no rival
Hangs to heal me, spills His blood
Curse-reversing day of Jesus
When You finally seize my soul
Freedom from myself will be
The sweetest rest I’ve ever known

That’s Freedom Hall, not “Freedo”…

Gloria Gaither…many are the songs we know by her!

My mom and I are here in Louisville taking in a couple days of the National Quartet Convention, a large Southern Gospel music event. Which basically means LOTS of people, lots of singing, and lots o’ pictures. It’s quite overwhelming, but we’re having fun! Here’s a look at yesterday.
Waiting for an afternoon concert showcase with my friend Lexia…
Mum and I with three members of the Gaither Vocal Band – Wes Hampton, Guy Penrod, and Marsh Hall
Pianist Stan Whitmire – I love his style…
It would seem that the blogging phase of my life has risen and…fallen. I don’t feel like I have much to offer in the way of meaningful posts these days. Apologies to all my friends who would rather I at least post a crazy picture or write something about local life instead of waiting for deep inspiration to hit.
So in that interest…the latest road trip of mine and my mom’s took us to Chicago for a couple nights. It was my first time in the popular town, which I found quite exciting…we won’t mention the stress of trying to figure out how to GET anywhere. I didn’t get to soak in as much of the city as I would’ve liked due to our rushed timetable, but I was able to do a few special things. And here’s the proof!
Entering downtown…
It took me 10 years, but I finally fulfilled my little girl wish!
the only place you’ll see one of these in the bathroom…
random downtown

….eating deep dish Chicago style pizza! YummO!

good Chicago memories!
The prayer of this beautiful new song really reached into my heart when I heard it a couple months ago. Sometimes, we just need to remember all the “reasons enough” that we have…
(Reason Enough by Ernie Haase & Wayne Haun, sung by Signature Sound)
I’ll probably be light on posting for awhile yet, but I wanted to share this video.
Some of you may know that my favorite group (ever) is Ernie Haase & Signature Sound – I love those guys! They teamed up with the Gaither Vocal Band earlier this year for a live DVD taping titled Together that was released this week and also featured on TV.
I had the privilege of being at the concert, so I was a little tickled to see that I made the cut on this acappella song, Sweet, Sweet, Spirit. Even if this isn’t your type of music, I think we can all agree that the harmony. is. beautiful.
