I had my first (please make that only) car accident today.

Yeah, that could’ve waited for…infinity. Thankfully it wasn’t much of one – crunched the front corner and headlight of the other car and sheared the license plate off my front bumper. It happened so fast and so slow at the same time…we both slammed on the brakes, but it didn’t stop the “WHAM!” that followed.

No one was hurt, I was just scared and then felt very stupid. (It was my fault.) Not to mention horrified that I had actually wreaked someone else’s car!

The other driver was quite dismayed of course, but she was very nice considering the circumstance. I was so glad she didn’t yell at me. She kept asking if I was okay…maybe I looked freaked out? Like just a little? She had just moved here from Arizona. I’m sure she wants to move back now. She called the police while I did what all smart girls do when they don’t know what to do – call Daddy.

Then we sat on the curb together and waited. I wanted to give her a hug, but I don’t think you’re supposed to hug someone after you wreck their car.

Other than a big scare and a $90 citation from the routine-as-ever policeman, all is well in the world.

Besides feeling very stupid and horrified and wrecking my perfect driving record, that is.

What a bummer! I had a car accident ONE MONTH after getting my license and it really bummed me out. I forgot the cell phone too and I couldn’t even get a hold of my parents at home, so a stranger had to drive me back. Car accidents are no fun. :( I’m sorry you had one….

Oh my goodness, that is horrible! (((HUG))) Now you have me scared to go out…. sighs. :) Pretty much everytime I get behind the wheel I end up profusely thanking God for certain moments of divine intervention and safety. I do dumb things all the time. People see the hair and I can just tell they’re thinking “Go figure.” :D

Hannah,
I’m so glad you’re okay! Thank the Lord neither of you were injured.

Don’t let it discourage you from driving- we all make mistakes :)

Hey, do you know what April 17th was the anniversary of ?

Talk with you soon :D
