French Toast

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

The thought of this was the only motivation for dragging myself out of bed this morning….

All it takes is 1 egg, 1/4 cup of milk, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla, 3- 4 slices of bread, some nutmeg or cinnamon, and you're set. And to really chase away the morning blues, I recommend going deluxe with strawberries and whipped cream. Add a prayer and that's MY kind of way to start the day off right!

Trust His Heart

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

This chorus has been a special comfort to me lately…

God is too wise to be mistaken
And God is too good to be unkind
So when you don't understand
When you don't see His plan
And when you can't trace His Hand
Trust His heart

Fear & Love

Thursday, November 9th, 2006

You know that little word called fear? It's always getting in my way, and it probably gets in your way, too. Fear of change, fear of people, fear of trying something new, fear of leaving the past behind….there are so many fears. Fears that if allowed to remain, cripple our ability to be and do what God wants, to fully live in the freedom He offers. But listen!

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves punishment, and the one who fears is not perfected in love.

1 John 4:18

The closer were are to the source of love, the less there is to be afraid about. Knowing His love has everything in control, what is there left to fear? The change is what's best for us, what people think doesn't matter, the new things are opportunities for growth, and the past can be the past forever. Say goodbye to fear and live in His love!

For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, "Abba! Father!"

Romans 8:15

My Current Reading…

Friday, November 3rd, 2006

God did not send His only Son to conquer sin and death on our behalf just so we could wallow in defeat and compromise while singing songs about His unconditional love. Jesus Christ died to give us true life – a life marked by radiance and righteousness that transforms our entire existence.
